Everyone has their own reasons for wanting to juice. Whether they want clearer skin, or they are trying to heal a certain ailment, juicing can help you heal naturally. I think the most popular thing juicing is used for is weight loss. If this is something you are interested in, you have come to the right place.
Should You Juice For Weight Loss?
Before you take any drastic measures for weight loss, I suggest you visit your physician and let him/her know that you are considering juicing as a weight loss method.
Next, I would simply start by adding a juice into your daily routine. Don’t even use it as a meal replacement, just add it in and start playing with recipes. The taste of juice can take a while to get used to until your taste buds adjust and you figure out which recipes you like.
If you can get that far, then juicing for weight loss might be right for you.
How Will Juicing Help With Weight Loss?
Aside from the obvious fact that it can be very low-cal in comparison to a meal, it also gives your body a break. Your body will take the nutrients from the juice and start sending it to all of the ailing areas of your body that you might not even know are there. This can also help you boost your metabolism, which everyone knows helps burn more calories.
Blending And Juicing For Weight Loss
Some fruits and vegetables juice better than others. I recommend juicing all veggies and then blending in spinach. While spinach has high water content, it is quite hard to extract it from the small leaves. After juicing and making sure you have 25% fruit and 75% vegetables, pour your juice into a blender and add in a cup or two of spinach.
This helps with fiber content and will slow the absorption of the sugars from the fruits. I have also found that blending in a chosen vegetable helps to keep me fuller about an hour longer, but everyone is different.
It is up to you how many meals you would like to replace with juice. The most I ever replace is two. Breakfast and dinner. That way the first thing my body gets is powerful vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and the last thing my body gets is the same.
I tend to each organic salads and chicken for lunch and drink lemon water all day. This is what works for me and results in a roughly 4-6 pound weight loss per week without exercise. If I add in walking, about another pound comes off.
