Are you constantly tired and groggy? Do you have trouble losing weight? You could have hypothyroidism! The first thing you are going to want to do is see your physician and get a blood test. This will confirm or deny your thyroid problems. How you proceed is up to you.
Food vs. Pills To Heal Your Thyroid
Your doctor will very likely prescribe you a pill that you will have to be on for the rest of your life. As time goes on, your prescription will increase. I have learned that while pills are a quick and permanent fix until you need a higher dose, you can also save your money and spend it on the right foods…Something your body will thank you for.
So many people are told that they cannot heal their thyroids naturally, just as I was told by my doctor. I say, give yourself 3-4 months and cut out the following foods:
Add the following into your diet:
- Cruciferous Vegetables
- Brazil Nuts
- Sea Vegetables
Adding Juice For Thyroid Health
While your body is working on healing your thyroid, try replacing one meal per day with my go-to thyroid recipe:
- 2 Cucumbers
- 10 Broccoli Florets
- 1 Cup watermelon
Try this for 3-4 months while keeping a journal so you can be sure you are staying on track. After your have completed this journey, get another blood and see where your thyroid stands.
Keep in mind, this is something you will have to continuously do. You might not have to do it every day, but certainly 3-4 days per week in order to keep optimal thyroid function.
